The festival of speed is a petrol head’s dream! Quite apart from the racing cars tearing up the hill climb course, every major car and motorbike brand is there showing off their wares to the public.
The Fantasy Approach
At the time of the event, Ford had a tie in with the latest Sweeney film – so we came up with a photographic entertainment solution to match. We took the movie poster and modified it so that we could green screen people into it!
We provided a selection of props to make sure people looked the part and we added a tailor made wash over each print for a more realistic look. The final touch was to personalise the photographs by adding the participants’ names.
As well as handing out prints at the event, we uploaded the completed images to the Ford UK Facebook page and www.myfordphoto.com there and then, so that photographs could be shared immediately. An unusual request for this event was that the images were to be turned into a slideshow and shown on a 40ft Jumbotron TV screen -They looked fantastic!
Over 2,500 prints were handed out over the course of the event and nearly 2,200 images were uploaded to www.myfordphoto.com and the Ford UK Facebook page.
There were over 35,000 views on www.myfordphoto.com a total reach on Facebook of over 250,000!

Such a great activation, the use of the Sweeney poster was perfect as it was so current! The Facebook data is phenomenal; it just shows that people love to share a great image of themselves!
